Abstract

Intercropping is a cropping pattern that uses more than one commodity on the same land, with the aim of increasing farmers' income and reducing the risk of crop failure from one particular commodity. In the intercropping pattern, it is necessary to pay attention to the root system of plants so that they do not overlap each other. So far, the intercropping pattern has only been considered in terms of the productivity of each plant, without paying attention to differences in the nutritional value of the main plant. Therefore, in this study an analysis of the nutritional value of the main plant used was cassava. The treatments applied were 3 types of cropping systems, namely: A= Double row monoculture cassava planting system; B = Double row cassava-corn intercropping system; and C = Double row cassava-soybean intercropping system. The results showed that the intercropping pattern of cassava and corn produced cassava tubers with the highest protein content (2.11%), fat (0.10%), and crude fiber (1.31%) and HCN content (0.10%). 08 mg/g) which was the lowest compared to other treatments. While the monoculture cassava cropping pattern produced cassava tubers with the highest starch content (16.82%) compared to other treatments. Keywords: cassava, intercropping, nutrition, monoculture
