ROUTERS: Jurnal Sistem dan Teknologi Informasi is a national journal published twice a year (February and Juli) and has open access with national and international research partners. ROUTERS is managed by the Study Program of Internet Engineering Technology, Politeknik Negeri Lampung (POLINELA) starting in 2023. ROUTERS is a national scientific journal that publishes scientific articles on research results within the scope of systems and information technology.

Peer Review Process

This journal operates a conventional single-blind reviewing policy in which the reviewer's name is always concealed from the submitting author. Authors should present their papers honestly, without fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, or inappropriate data manipulation. Submitted papers are evaluated by anonymous referees for contribution, originality, relevance, and presentation. Papers will be sent for anonymous review by at least two reviewers who will either be members of the Editorial Board or others of similar standing in the field. In order to shorten the review process and respond quickly to authors, the Editors may triage a submission and come to a decision without sending the paper for external review. The Editor shall inform you of the results of the review as soon as possible, hopefully in 4-5 weeks. The Editors’ decision is final, and no correspondence can be entered into concerning manuscripts considered unsuitable for publication in this journal. All correspondence, including notification of the Editors’ decision and requests for revisions, will be sent by email.

Open Access Policy
This journal provides open access to its content on the basis that making research freely available to the public promotes worldwide knowledge exchange. Routers journal adheres to best practice and high publishing standards and complies with the following conditions:

1. Provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge;
2. Allows the author to hold the copyright and retain publishing rights without restrictions;
3. Deposits content with a long-term digital preservation or archiving program;
4. Uses DOIs as permanent identifiers;
5. Embeds machine-readable CC licensing information in articles;
6. Allows generous reuse and mixing of content, in accordance with CC BY license;
7. Can provide article level metadata for any indexers and aggregators

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The Study Program of Internet Engineering Technology (IET) - Politeknik Negeri Lampung is a non-profit international scientific association of distinguished scholars engaged in engineering and science devoted to promoting research and technologies in engineering and science fields through digital technology. Polinela Journals are peer-reviewed international journals. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in our journals, including the authors, the editors, the peer-reviewers, and the publisher (Polinela). This statement is based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication
The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed Routers journal is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. It is therefore important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the authors, the journal editors, the peer reviewers, the publisher, and society.

Journal Polinela, as publisher of routers journals, takes its duties of guardianship over all stages of publishing extremely seriously, and we recognize our ethical and other responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprints, or other commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions. In addition, the  Editorial Board will assist in communications with other journals and/or publishers where this is useful and necessary.

Publication decisions
The editors of the Routers journals are responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. The validation of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers must always drive such decisions. The editors may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. The editors may confer with other editors or reviewers before making this decision.

Fair play
An editor may at any time evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

Confidentiality
The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.

Disclosure and conflicts of interest
Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without the express written consent of the author.

Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions, and through editorial communications with the author, it may also assist the author in improving the paper.

Promptness
Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse himself from the review process.

Confidentiality
Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. 

Standards of Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.

Acknowledgement of Sources
Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument has been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. A reviewer should also bring to the editor's attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.

Duties of Authors

Reporting standards
Authors of reports of original research should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the paper. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.

Data Access and Retention
Authors are asked to provide the raw data in connection with a paper for editorial review, and should be prepared to provide public access to such data (consistent with the ALPSP-STM Statement on Data and Databases), if practicable, and should in any event be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable time after publication.

Originality and Plagiarism
The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if they have used the work and/or words of others, this has been appropriately cited or quoted.

Multiple, Redundant or Concurrent Publication
An author should not, in general, publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

Acknowledgement of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work.

Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Where there are others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors. The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.

Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects
If the work involves chemicals, procedures, or equipment that have any unusual hazards inherent in their use, the author must clearly identify these in the manuscript.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
All authors should disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.

Fundamental errors in published works
When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.

Policy of Plagiarism Detection

The peer-review process is at the heart of scientific publishing. As part of Routers Journal commitment to protecting the integrity of the scholarly record, Routers Journal feels a strong obligation to support the scientific community in all aspects of research and publishing ethics. All submitted manuscripts must be free from plagiarism. As part of Routers Journal's commitment to protecting the integrity of the scholarly record, we feels a strong obligation to support the scientific community in all aspects of research and publishing ethics. All submitted manuscripts must be free from plagiarism. All authors are suggested to use plagiarism detection software to check the similarity before submitting their manuscript to the journal (please use iThenticate or Turnitin to check the similarity). Editors will also check the similarity of manuscripts in this journal by using Turnitin or iThenticate software. If plagiarism is indicated or detected, the manuscript will be rejected immediately. Final camera ready will also be checked again for similarity rate. The overall similarity rate of a manuscript should not exceed 20 percent, and the similarity rate to a single source should not exceed 10 percent.

Guideline for Online Submission

Author should first register as Author and/or is offered as Reviewer through the following address: manuscript template link

Author should fulfil the form as detail as possible where the star marked form must be entered. After all form textbox was filled, Author clicks on “Register” button to proceed the registration. Therefore, Author is brought to online author submission interface where Author should click on “New Submission”. In the Start a New Submission section, click on “’Click Here’: to go to step one of the five-step submission process”. The following are five steps in online submission process:

1. Step 1 - Starting the Submission: Select the appropriate section of journal, i.e. Original Research Articles or Review Article. Thus, author must check-mark on the submission checklists.
2. Step 2 – Uploading the Submission: To upload a manuscript to this journal, click Browse on the Upload submission file item and choose the manuscript document file to be submitted, then click Upload button. 
3. Step 3 – Entering Submission’s Metadata: In this step, detail authors metadata should be entered including marked corresponding author. After that, manuscript title and abstract must be uploaded by copying the text and paste in the textbox including keywords.
4. Step 4 – Uploading Supplementary Files: if there any supplementary file (dataset, copyright form) and then click on Upload button.
5. Step 5 – Confirming the Submission:  Author should final check the uploaded manuscript documents in this step. To submit the manuscript to Routers journal, click Finish Submission button after the documents is true. The corresponding author or the principal contact will receive an acknowledgement by email and will be able to view the submission’s progress through the editorial process by logging in to the journal web address site. 
6. It is mandatory to present your final paper according to "IMRADC style" format, i.e.:

        4. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION (RAD)

7. Please also pay an attention to double check your final camera ready paper:

   (1) Introduction section: explain the context of the study and state the precise objective. Introduction section should be presented in 3-6 paragraphs. An Introduction should cover the following three (3) parts:
   - Background: Authors have to make clear what the context is. Ideally, authors should give an idea of the state-of-the art of the field the report is about.
   - The Problem: If there was no problem, there would be no reason for writing a manuscript, and definitely no reason for reading it. So, please tell readers why they should proceed reading. Experience shows that for this part a few lines are often sufficient.
   - The Proposed Solution: Now and only now! - authors may outline the contribution of the manuscript. Here authors have to make sure readers point out what are the novel aspects of authors' work. Authors should place the paper in proper context by citing relevant papers. At least 10 references (recent journal articles) are referenced to support this section.
   
   (2) Conclusion section: Summarize sentences the primary outcomes of the study in a paragraph. Are the claims in this section supported by the results, do they seem reasonable? Have the authors indicated how the results relate to expectations and to earlier research? Does the article support or contradict previous theories? Does the conclusion explain how the research has moved the body of scientific knowledge forward?
   
   (3) About Figures & Tables in your manuscript:
   - Because tables and figures supplement the text, all tables and figures should be REFERRED in the text. Authors MUST EXPLAIN what the reader should look for when using the table or figure. Focus only on the important points the reader should draw from them, and leave the details for the reader to examine on her own.
   - Tables are to be presented with a single horizontal line under: the table caption, the column headings and at the end of the table. All tables are produced by creating tables in MS Word. Captured tables are NOT allowed.
   - All figures MUST be presented in high quality images

After this submission, Authors who submit the manuscript will get a confirmation email about the submission. Therefore, Authors are able to track their submission status at any time by logging in to the online submission interface. The submission tracking includes the status of manuscript review and editorial process.

Article Processing Charges (APCs)

Routers journal welcomes article submissions and does not charge Article Processing Charges (APCs).

Authors are not required to pay an Article Submission Fee as part of the submission process to contribute to review costs.

Article Publication Charges (APCs): 0.00 (USD)

For Libraries/Individuals, can read and download any full-text articles for free of charge.

Withdrawal of Manuscripts

Authors are not allowed to withdraw submitted manuscripts because the withdrawals are a waste of valuable resources. Editors and referees spend a great deal of time processing submitted manuscripts and invest money and time. If authors still request withdrawal of their manuscripts when the manuscripts are still in the peer-reviewing process, they will be punished by paying $100 per manuscript as a withdrawal penalty to the publisher. However, it is unethical to withdraw a submitted manuscript from one journal if it is accepted by another journal. In the case of the withdrawal of manuscripts after they are accepted for publication, the author will be punished by paying US$200 per manuscript. Withdrawal of manuscripts is only allowed after the withdrawal penalty has been fully paid to the publisher. If authors don't agree to pay the penalty, they and their affiliations will be blacklisted for publication in this journal. Even their previously published articles will be removed from our online system.
