Deteksi Keberadaan Bakteriofag pada Tanaman Padi yang Terinfeksi Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae di Sentra Produksi Padi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta

Hawar Daun Bakteri (HDB) yang disebabkan oleh Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) merupakan salah satu penyakit penting pada tanaman padi di Indonesia. Pengendalian penyakit ini masih menghadapi berbagai kendala, terutama terkait efektivitas dan dampak lingkungan dari metode konvensional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeteksi keberadaan bakteriofag sebagai agensia hayati potensial untuk mengendalikan Xoo di wilayah Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Sebanyak 20 sampel tanah, air, dan daun dari tanaman padi yang terinfeksi dikumpulkan dari berbagai sentra produksi padi. Uji plak dilakukan untuk mendeteksi keberadaan bakteriofag, sedangkan uji kisaran inang dilakukan terhadap 20 isolat Xoo. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa 18 dari 20 sampel mampu menghasilkan plak, menandakan adanya bakteriofag yang aktif melisiskan Xoo. Sampel tanah menunjukkan kisaran inang yang lebih luas dibandingkan air dan daun. Penemuan ini menunjukkan potensi besar bakteriofag sebagai agensia hayati dalam pengendalian penyakit HDB secara spesifik dan ramah lingkungan di wilayah Yogyakarta.
