Abstract

Soybean meal or soybean meal is a feed ingredient derived from the processing of soybean
seeds into soybean oil. The function of soybean meal in feed formulations is as a source of protein.
The physical standards of soybean meal include color, aroma, taste, and texture. Deviations in color,
aroma, taste and texture can be caused by contamination from other materials. Such deviations can
result in losses to the company and non-achievement of the function of soybean meal in feed
formulations. Efforts made to prevent this from happening are the need for fast and accurate testing
by conducting physical testing before raw materials are received by the company. The purpose of
writing this Final Project Report is to find out how the physical quality testing method and to find
out whether the quality of soybean meal sent is in accordance with the standards applied at PT.
Great Giant Livestock, Terbanggi Besar, Central Lampung. Data collection in writing this report is
carried out by interviews, observation, and direct practice at the Quality Control Department of PT.
Great Giant Livestock. Physical quality tests conducted at PT. Great Giant Livestock includes:
soybean meal sampling, testing of color quality, aroma, taste, specific gravity and moisture content.
