Pengaruh GA3 Terhadap Viabilitas dan Vigor Benih Bawang Merah

Shallots is one important commodities in Indonesia. Shallots can be propagated using a vegetative seed (tuber) or generative (True Shallot Seed). This study aims to determine the effect of gibberellins (GA3) on viability and vigor of True Shallot Seed. This research was
conducted at the Seed Testing Laboratory, Vegetable Crops Research Institute Lembang from November to December 2015. The study was compiled using a completely randomized
design (CRD) with two factors factorial, repeated four times. The first factor is the variety
include Tuk-tuk, Trisula and Pancasona. The second factor is concentrationGA3 comprises
three levels giberrelin GA3 treatment include 0 ppm, 100 ppm and 200 ppm. Parameters
observed include seed moisture content, germination, maximum growth potential, vigor
index, the growth rate of germination, root length and hypocotyl length. The results showed
that concentrationof GA3 solution of 100 ppm and 200 ppm are not able to improve the
viability and vigor of botanical onions (True Shallot Seed) were tested.
