Putra Aji Dua Village has several farmer groups (poktan), including the Langgeng Jaya Farmer Group, which consists of 25 members. This group manages approximately 35 hectares of community plantation land; however, the productivity of their cultivated pepper plants has declined due to infrequent fertilization. This low productivity stems from a general lack of intensive fertilization practices among farmers, resulting in low yields and high vulnerability to pests and diseases. Furthermore, farmers face high prices and limited availability of chemical fertilizers.
To minimize losses and boost pepper plant productivity, plant growth regulator (PGR) technology and booster fertilizers can be utilized. These technologies are expected to optimize pepper yields and increase the income of Putra Aji Dua Village residents. This extension program will be conducted through lectures and discussions, followed by practical demonstrations of formative pruning on participants' pepper farms.
To measure the program's success, initial, process, and final evaluations will be conducted. The initial evaluation (pre-test) will be administered before the session to gauge participants' baseline knowledge of PGR and booster fertilizer technology. During the activities, a process evaluation will monitor participants' engagement, activity levels, and attentiveness. Finally, a final evaluation (post-test) will be conducted upon completion to assess the knowledge and skills acquired by the partners, as well as the immediate impact of the training.
