Pengaruh Lama Perendaman dan Konsentrasi Asam Giberelat (Ga3) terhadap Pertumbuhan Kecambah Padi Gogo (Oryza sativa L.) Varietas Situ Bagendit

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know whether giberellic acid concentrationand soaking time can influence the growth of upland rice Situ Bagendit seedgermination. This research was carried out in the Laboratory of PlantPhysiology, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and NaturalSciences, University of Lampung in December 2014 in a 2x3 factorialexperiment. Factor A is soaking time with 2 levels: 18 hours and 24 hours.Factor B is the concentration of giberellic acid with 3 levels: 0 mg/l, 50mg/l, and 100 mg/l. Each combination treatment was repeated 4 times.Experimental unit number is 24. The dependent variables in this experimentare the length of seedling, fresh weight, and total chlorophyll content. Datawas analyzed using ANOVA at 5% significance level and proceed with thedetermination of a simple effect with the LSD test at 5% significance level.The results showed that giberellic acid treatment with a concentration 100mg / l and a 24-hour soaking time increase seedling length and seedlingfresh weight. Giberellic acid treatment decreased the total chlorophyllcontent of seedling. Soaking time affect the seedling fresh weight, but didnon affect seedling length and total chlorophyll content of seedling. Thefinal conclusion is that the treatment of giberellic acid 100 mg/l with 24-hours soaking time can increase the growth of upland rice seedlingthroughout increasing in length and fresh weight seedling. Key words: upland rice, varieties Situ Bagendit, giberellic acid, soakingtime, the seedling length, fresh weight, total chlorophyll content.
