Abstrak

This study aims to examine: (1) factors affecting cattle fattening business, (2) business scale condition and technical efficiency of cattle fattening business. The research was conducted at PT. SA Kecamatan Anak Tuha as the center of beef production in Central Lampung Regency in August - December 2015. The sample size is 70 bulls and 70 female cows are taken simple randomly. Data were analyzed using Cobb douglas production function. The results showed that: (1) the factors that have real and positive effect on cattle fattening business are forage feed, fattening feed, and labor, (2) business scale of bulls and females are in increasing return to scale condition and technically fattening bulls and cows has not been efficient.  Keywords: efficiency, business scale
