Abstract

Remazol Red is a synthetic dye commonly used in the textile industry. However, its direct discharge into aquatic environments can lead to significant environmental and health problems. Therefore, appropriate treatment methods are necessary to reduce the pollutant load of this dye before disposal. One promising method is adsorption using manganese zeolite as the adsorbent. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of manganese zeolite in reducing the concentration of Remazol Red through a continuous adsorption process. The standard calibration curve of Remazol Red showed a linear relationship with the equation y=0.0278x+0.0055y and a correlation coefficient (R²) of 0.9969, indicating high measurement accuracy. The highest removal efficiency was 19.9% using a manganese zeolite bed height of 5 cm with a mass of 34.75 grams, while the lowest removal was 12.6%. Adsorption capacity reached its maximum at the 10th minute, followed by fluctuations, and began to decline and stabilize at the 40th minute, indicating that adsorption equilibrium had been achieved.
