Construction Of Broiler Close House At PT Sinar Ternak Sejahtera Farm Banjar Negeri Lampung Selatan

Abstrak

In the maintenance of broilers there are many environmental factors that affect one of them
is the cage. Cages that are commonly used in broiler maintenance are open house systems and closed
house systems, but open system cages cause an unfavorable response to chicken productivity when
unfavorable weather changes occur. Maintenance of broilers using a close house system is one of
the technological innovation efforts to deal with quite extreme weather changes, so that it is hoped
that it can minimize the adverse effects of environmental conditions or climate change outside the
cage which affect productivity in broiler maintenance. Close house cages are closed system cages
that can guarantee the biological safety of chickens with good ventilation arrangements so that the
temperature in the cage can be adjusted as needed. Temperature, humidity, light and wind speed that
enter the cage can be adjusted properly so as to create a comfortable atmosphere for the chickens.
The purpose of this final project is to recognize and describe the construction of cages and close
house equipment on broiler farms at PT. Sinar Ternak Sejahtera farm, Banjar Negeri, South
Lampung. The method used is field work practice directly following field activities, observing,
documenting and collecting data by interviewing employees and the head of the stable. PT. Sinar
Ternak Sejahtera farm Banjar Negeri is a partnership of PT. Charoen Pokphand Indonesia, which
operates in the maintenance and rearing of broiler chickens, uses a close house cage system. Based
on the results and discussion of the activities obtained, namely explaining the construction of the
cage, the layout and direction of the cage and the equipment used in the close house cage.
