Abstract

The high demand for pakcoy in Indonesia drives the need to increase production to meet market demands. Therefore, efforts to enhance pakcoy production must include adequate and balanced fertilization. A combination of inorganic fertilizers such as NPK and organic fertilizers such as liquid organic fertilizer (LOF), applied at appropriate dosages and concentrations, can be a potential solution to improve crop yield. This study aims to: (1) determine the optimal NPK fertilizer dosage for the growth and yield of pakcoy plants; (2) determine the optimal concentration of liquid organic fertilizer for the growth and yield of pakcoy plants; and (3) determine the best combination of NPK fertilizer dosage and liquid organic fertilizer concentration for the growth and yield of pakcoy plants. The research was conducted at the Experimental Field of Politeknik Negeri Lampung from May to June 2025. The experimental design used was a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two factors. The first factor was the NPK fertilizer dosage: 1 g/plant (N1), 2 g/plant (N2), and 3 g/plant (N3). The second factor was the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer: 1 ml/L (P1), 2 ml/L (P2), and 3 ml/L (P3). The data obtained were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). When the results showed significant differences, the analysis was continued using the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at a 5% significance level. The results showed that the NPK fertilizer dosage of 3 g/plant (N3) showed better results for plant height at 21 and 28 days after planting (DAP), number of leaves at 28 DAP, leaf width, fresh plant weight, and dry weight of pakcoy plants. There was no optimal concentration of liquid organic fertilizer observed across all growth and yield variables of pakcoy. The best treatment combination was the NPK fertilizer dosage of 3 g/plant with liquid organic fertilizer concentration of 1 ml/L (N3P1), which produced the highest fresh and dry weights of pakcoy plants.
