Abstrak

Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever is a disease caused by dengue virus which is transmitted by Ae.aegypti. Spread of the disease is very fast which is through the bite of an infected mosquito dengue virus.Therefore, efforts should be made to avoid mosquito bites Ae.aegypti, one of which is by using mosquito repellent made from natural, in that it is a leaf clovers.This study aims to determine how the concentration of clove leaf extract contained in the most effective lotion used as a repellent substance (repellent) against Ae. aegypti.This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Zoology and Laboratory of Organic Chemistry, University of Lampung In January-February, 2014. Study used a randomized block design with four replications involving 16 randomly selected volunteers in the use of lotions clove leaf extract with different concentrations.Lotion composed of clove leaf extract concentrations of 0% (control), 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%.Analysis of variance performed with SPSS 16 for windows at 5% significance level, and the test continued Least Significant Difference (LSD) at the 5% significance level.The results showed that the leaf extract of clove lotion 20% -100% concentration potentially as repellent against Ae.aegypti.Power effectiveness as a repellent lotion  directly proportional to the concentration of clove leaf extracts are used.
