Uji Ketahanan pada Kecambah Padi Gogo (Oryza sativa L.) terhadap Cekaman Kekeringan yang Diinduksi oleh Polietilen Glikol 6000

The purpose of this research is to know whether upland rice seed varieties Situ Patenggangand Situ Bagendit resistant to drought stressinduced by polyethylene glycol 6000. Thisresearch was conducted in the Laboratory of Plant Physiology, Department of Biology,Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Lampung on December 2014, ina 2x3 factorial design. Factor A is upland rice varieties with two levels ie Situ Bagendit andSitu Patenggang. Factor B is PolyethyleneGlycol 6000 with 3 levels of 0%w/v; 10% w/v;20% w/v. Each combination treatment was repeated 5 times. Experimental unit number is 30. The variables in this research was the length of shoots, sprout biomass, root shoot ratio,relative water content and total chlorophyll content. The results showed that polyethyleneglycol 6000 can increase the length of shoot son upland rice varieties Situ Bagendit and varieties Situ Patenggang, increasing the length of the shoot is not positively correlated tobiomass of sprout, root shoot ratio, relatif water content, and total chlorophyll content onboth varieties. Polyethylene glycol 6000 degrade biomass upland rice sprouts, root shoot ratio, relative water content and total chlorophyll content in both upland rice varieties. The genetic of varieties Situ Patenggang have better growth characteristics than Situ Bagendit. So that, from the results of this research concluded that both sprouts upland rice varieties Situ Bagendit and Situ patenggang trying to do adaptation to drought stress induced bypolyethylene glycol 6000.
